La Plume Blanche

After looking at several positive reviews we decided to dine here. Unfortunately the food and service were subpar. Our food took a long time but the mains were not even warm when they came.

Overall service was terrible - people around us were getting friendlier service and a lot more frequently, and our server was extremely indifferent to our feedback. The fois gros was very bitter - we couldn't even finish it. After being served a extremely sugary wine, our waiter offered to switch for another. We were surprised upon received our bill that we were charged for both! Very frustrating experience - would not recommend.

Great food in Tours

My wife and I ate in Le Cappucino the night before and elected to eat in La Plume the following night as the set menu looked ideal for us. We had the 3 course 17.50 Euro meal each and were really pleased with the food. The starters (mixed meats for me and spinach quiche for my wife) were quite large but really good. The main meals, chicken in honey for me and black pepper beef for my wife, were very enjoyable and after a large starter the portions balanced out a little! For desert I had the Lemon Meringue and my wife had tiramisu -again both really tasty. Add a carafe 50cl of Chinon wine and the bill came to 47 Euro. I would eat here again - for what we ate this was a good value and enjoyable choice. Thanks

A fairly small restaurant in the old part of Tours. The menu was varied and the food was well cooked and well served. The tables were rather close together and we were initially the only couple eating but when another couple arrived they were seated next to us. Quite a Mad Hatter's Tea Party although there was house wine, which was good. The waiter was probably inexperienced but he did try hard. Reasonably priced too.
On the whole a good average but nothing special.

Had an enjoyable and well priced lunch at this busy spot. Efficient service, two menus to choose from. We chose the less expensive option and were very happy with our cheese cheese tarte appetizers and gratin du jour mains. Above average presentation, considering the price point. Lots of locals here even though it's a touristy area. Very busy at dinner, too. We had intended to go back but never made it. Worth checking out the other menu featuring regional specialties.

Very nice meal for reasonable price

Really enjoyed this spot in the heart of Vieux-Tours, next to Place Plummereau. Friendly service, very good food at reasonable price given the quality. Small outdoor terracevwas a great place to be on a very busy weekend evening!

This is a cute place near the centre of the mediaeval town, open on Sundays (a big plus). The theme is the classroom (the plume is the pen). We had lunch there at an outside table on a warm day in August. Service is friendly and efficient and the food is generous portions of local dishes. We had the tartine d'andouillette and salade de gesiers to start and for mains the "beuchelle Tourangelle". Plenty for the adventurous but "safe" dishes too. We loved it.

Super lunch - 5 different dishes and all were excellent.

We too the cheaper of the daily formules at E16.90. All our dishes were just excellent - Saint Martin chevre and epinard tarte, chicken agrume, boudin gratin, poire St Helene, tiramisu. They were without fail delicious, generous and attractive. We left feeling we'd had one of our best meals in France (in 5 years of living in France). Well done La Plume Blanche!
